Bob was ordained by the Atlantic United Baptist Convention in 1963. He ministered in Annapolis Valley (NS) churches until 1967 when he was enrolled as a Canadian Forces Chaplain. He was assigned to military bases in Greenwood, NS; Whitehorse, YT; Lac Ste. Denis, QC; Halifax, NS; Gagetown, NB; Victoria, BC; and Ottawa, ON.
Bob returned to his native New Brunswick in 1990 and spent 3 years in the Petitcodiac Pastoral Charge of the United Church. He was received as a Member of the Order of Ministry of The United Church of Canada in 1991. He retired to Oromocto, NB in 1993 and has since then served Fredericton area churches in Kingsley-Birdton, Lincoln and the downtown Wilmot United Church, in addition to part-time chaplaincy work at CFB Gagetown.
Bob has been married to Johanne since 1962. They have 3 children: Susan (Sears), Oromocto; Elizabeth, Vancouver; and Ian, Edmonton; and four grandchildren.
Involvement in the ministry of pastoral care at Wilmot is one of the highlights of Bob's long and varied career.
