REQUEST FOR
EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

Wilmot United Church, located in the centre of downtown Fredericton at the corner of King and Carleton, is host to many activities beyond Sunday services. Despite the breadth and depth of our mission, the congregation recognizes that our large church building is not being utilized to its full potential. We wish to make more effective use of these spaces so that the building itself can help fulfil our mission and vision.

We seek partners who have a vision that is complementary to our own and who could benefit from the use of space within the walls of our church. As such, we invite Expressions of Interest from anyone with a compelling idea of how to better use the church building in furtherance of our vision: “Wilmot United Church is an open and welcoming presence in downtown Fredericton, putting our Christian faith into action to be a light in God's world.”

GUIDELINES AND POLICIES
Sexual Abuse Prevention and Response
The United Church of Canada

The United Church of Canada has never shied away from confronting challenging issues and, in that light, established its first policy on dealing with sexual abuse in 1993.

After 10 years, a thorough review of the policy was undertaken to identify whether the policy reflected current Canadian legal requirements and employment standards. Not surprisingly, since societal and employment standards had evolved significantly in the interim, the policy needed to be updated, and a new policy was published in 2007. After further review, the policy was updated and the processes clarified for the April 2011 edition.

The updated policy is effective April 1, 2011.

Graphic - Logo, Seasons of the Spirit

Welcome to Wilmot United Church Sunday school.

We are using the curriculum Seasons of the Spirit. It is an inclusive program for all age groups. This program supports faith communities and families in their life together by exploring meaning and mystery in the Bible; being grounded in thoughtful theology; empowering children, youth, and adults to be transformed in Christ; inspiring and equipping leaders; nurturing the imaginative spirit and integrating worship, learning, and serving ministries.

Please check out their web site http://www.seasonsonline.ca/index.php to learn more.

Currently we offer classes for the following age groups:

• 3-5 years old
• 6-8 years old
• 9-10 years old
• 11 and up

We welcome new registrations throughout the year so please come a few minutes early to the Sunday school area and one of our teachers would be more than happy to welcome your child or youth.

In addition, we are always looking for volunteers and if you should feel called to use your gifts for this important ministry within the Church, please contact our Minister Rose-Hannah Gaskin. She can be reached at 458-1066 or by e-mail at rose...@wilmotuc.nb.ca
