UCW (United Church Women)

Members of our UCW are members of the Wilmot Church and include others from the wider community. We meet regularly for fellowship and social gatherings. Our meetings consist of a program, either by members of the group or a visiting speaker, followed by a business meeting and lunch. At our business meeting we hear of members of our community and discuss our fund raisers and where to spend the money!

We hold several fundraising events during the year: Foodless Food sale in February, Spring and Fall Rummage sales in late April and October, Apple pie making in November, Bake and New-to-You sale in early December.

We welcome all women to our group and especially need many volunteers for the fundraisers. Besides being very important it is a fun way to get to know each other, there is always a job for all!

Vision:

As United Church Women we believe:
   that as Christian women of faith, we nurture spirituality by reaching out with commitment and devotion to all God's people;
   in promoting truth, justice, peace, caring, and sharing with respect for all in the community and wider world;    in loving God and others by living generously and giving joyfully;
   and in affirming and strengthening outselves creatively in study and witness through music, laughter, and solitude.

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to love God; to foster Christian faithfulness, spirituality, commitment, and devotion, and to promote love and respect by living generously and giving joyfully to all God's people; and to affirm and strengthen ourselves creatively.
