Memorial Scholarship and the Ellen Beairsto Bursary Fund. wilmot United church Bursaries Helen a. memorial scholarship There is an annual scholarship in memory of Helen A. Young. It was instituted in September 1984 by the Wilmot UCW. The Criteria is as follows: The Applicant is to be from a family connected with Wilmot United Church. To be used for education beyond high school (university, business college, technical school or community college). Consideration will be given to student’s academic standing and participation in church activities. Students may re-apply even if they have already received this scholarship. Closing date for applications is October 30, 2023.     Knitters, crocheters, and those wanting to learn meet monthly to create prayer shawls. wilmot united church Prayer Shawl Ministry Our friendly group creates prayer shawls for folks in need of support or to help celebrate a life event such as a baptism. All knitters, crocheters and folks willing to learn are welcome to join in the Parlour at 7:00 pm on the first Wednesday of each month. Shawls are made together, and at home, and each one is blessed before being delivered to someone within our congregation.     Wilmot United Church has several options for those looking to rent concert or event space in downtown Fredericton. Rental Spaces Wilmot is a large building centrally located in downtown Fredericton with a variety of room sizes and a massive kitchen. Our spaces are available to rent for events, clubs, teams, and activities. Discounts are provided for non-profit organizations and anyone booking more than six hours of space. Interested in making a booking? Our rental application will need to be filled out. rental agreement Sanctuary Renowned in Fredericton as a concert venue because of it's fantastic acoustics, the sanctuary holds up to 410 persons. There is a lift within the building and wheelchair seating on the front, left side. Fireside Room A comfortable room with an electric fireplace for meetings of 25-30 people. Chairs are arranged in a circle when you first arrive. The Parlour For intimate gatherings of up to forty people, the parlour is a cozy, quiet place with lots of comfortable seating. The Kitchen Wilmot has a giant kitchen with three stoves, ample counter space and an industrial dishwasher. A kitchen monitor will be provided if you rent this space to ensure that safety standards are maintained. Gymnasium A big space for sport-based activities, children's clubs and events that holds up to 777 persons. Tables and chairs can be rented and set up for seated events.     Wilmot's branch of the UCW. Members of Wilmot and St. Paul's congregation as well as women from the Fredericton area meet monthly for fellowship, activities and the development of fundraising events. wilmot united church United Church Women Wilmot's UCW includes Wilmoters and women from the larger Fredericton community. Meetings are held monthly from September to June and involve a program provided by a member or a visiting speaker or a chosen activity, followed by a business meeting and then lunch. The UCW holds several fundraising events throughout the year including: - Foodless Food Sale (February) - Spring Rummage Sale (April) - Fall Rummage Sale (October) - Apple Pie Making (November) - Bake and New-to-You Sale (December) Donations for the Spring and Fall rummage sales are welcome at any time. The visitors also meet together several times a year to share, in confidence, concerns or difficulties and to update their pastoral visiting skills. Donations Below are several options to financially support Wilmot's faith community and the work that we do. Donate in person on Sunday Morning by putting your envelope on one of the offering plates at either entrance to the sanctuary. Donate by bringing or mailing your cheque to the church office during the week. Donate using Canada Helps here . Donate by arranging Pre-Authorized Remittances (PAR) through the Church Office by c alling 506-458-1066 or emailing wilmotuc@nb.sympatico.ca . Donate using Interac e-Transfer: Start by logging into your online or mobile banking app. Locate the Interac e-Transfers option, often found on the main screen or in the Bills/Transfer section. Add Wilmot as a payee/recipient using the email address wilmot.office@gmail.com . Once Wilmot is added as a recipient, select "send money," then select your bank account, and enter the amount you wish to send. We are set-up for auto-deposit , so no security question/answer is needed. Please add a note or memo to the e-Transfer explaining how you want your donation split between funds. For example, a $30 donation might use "10 Local, 5 M&S, 10 Capital, 5 Benevolent".
